I really think those scenes (all of them, not just Tavvy's), helped the movie along. Usually when deleted scenes are added back, one says "oh, now I see why they were taken out." But these ones only make the movie richer.

But, sorry, the firefly scene just doesn't do much for me.

The interrogation would have been great. (Has anyone seen screencap from that scene? I can't find one! I remember seeing one from the "I always do" line.)...

No, I wasn't thinking of losing the 'questioning of the private' scene ("then let him SPEAK"). But if they were concerned about duplicating the 'Border-fetching-Tavington' bit, then I wish they'd have lost the firefly bit and kept the 'everything grows here' bit followed by the interrogation scene. Also that gives us a look at what became of that guy who had just quit Martin's forces in the swamps. He didn't want to continue with Martin, but...

yeah the interrogation scene is just amazing (Tavvy looks so gorgeous in it) I've seen it on youtube.

U R correct, Iris, the interrogation scene is not on that DVD, also missing is the "Everything grows here" scene, if I
remember correctly...still, the firefly and hospital scenes make up for it

OKAY! I FINALLY SAW IT!!!

This morning, I was in a South Carolina kinda mood (planning my yet-again-postponed trip . . . December 1st now), and started watching and of course couldn't turn it off . . . well, not until after Cowpens, of course.

It was cool seeing the scenes put back in. And the doctor's tent scene (Cornwallis/Tavington) had bits in that weren't there before! (just a smidgen)

The firefly scene was nice.

I haven't had a chance to really give the movie a 'go'! Might have to wait till next week when the kids are back in school. Then I can close all the windows and turn up the volume! We don't yet have an HD tv, just an older large flat screen (wega). But the picture still does have a slightly better quality. We have surround sound speakers set up, though, and that's what's great: the sound quality is MUCH better on BluRay! So can hardly wait to see the firefly scene!...

I bit the bullet and purchased a low-price BluRay player . . . mainly because the dratted Disney Corp continues to put extra stuff on the bluray versions of their discs that aren't on the regular ones (I hear they're trying to push the technology they have money in . . . ah well, more power to 'em).

Anyway, so I Amazoned the player, and at the same time decided to get the BR disc of Patriot. And I did. Then I realized that my very first regular dvd, end of 2001, was . ....
